Cassetteboy

Comedy Cut & Paste music @ it's bestttt, Cassetteboy obviously spends hoursssss slowly assembling bits of footage together to make these.

TPO1

Obscure experimental electronic act from Japan, the first video is just crazy... then the second shows off their Kraftwerk/Daft Punk'esque melodies.

Big Love to Luna for this <3

Maluca

Diplo produced Merengue type House beats [Glitchy/Up-Beat] from the most recent signee to Mad Decent.

Rhythm Device

More New Beat, verging on Hard Techno... CLASSIC!!!!!!

The Beat Club

Belgian New Beat act on Subway Dance... this defines the world ridiculous, silly/retro/awesome

Beef Wellington ft. Swamburger

Not your average Conscious Hip Hop, Wellington has a unique style to his beats, influenced by all your standard stuff like Funk/Jazz, but all the way to House/Breakbeat... sick joints off Eighth Dimension Records.

John Creamer & Stephane K

More Deep & Sexy House... from 2 of the best remixers out there, this takes the original hit by Puretone, elongates it to over double it's length and creates a multi-layered, slowly rising/falling House anthem, cant recommend this enough.

As with most House tracks, Big up Alex W... the Guru of that shittttt

Lulu Mushi

Downtempo from Mush Records... really mellow/sublime, like Mr. Scruff meets Bonobo in the mind of a California native chick.

Almendra

Argentine late 60's/early 70's Rock band, even though the band are amazing... i'm mostly posting because of one man, Luis Alberto Spinetta, one of the most influentual musicians from his country and a total outsider at heart, it's worth checking into Pescado Rabioso, Invisible, Spinetta Jade & at least his earlier solo albums.

Black Sugar

70's Latin Funk Fusion, really summery vibe

Fish Go Deep

Classic Deep & Sexy House track, also highly recommended is the Dub mix of their newest track Final Tide.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan

Punjabi Qawwali music... supposedly special music producing emotions of love, fear, desire, repentance, etc. All i know is it has a great tribal rhythm to it.

The Sleepy Jackson

Cheery Australian Indie Rock, dude has a pretty distinctive voice.

Supermax

Austrian Disco Funk artist Kurt Hauenstein goes by the alias SUPERMAX and he's pretty damn funky.

The Undergraduates

More Jungle, this time a more atmospheric feel goin' on, but still heavy/dark/tribal, 93 release on Camden Tunes

Chatta B

Massive 95 Ragga Jungle track from Redskin Records

Bobby McFerrin

Known by most as the guy behind 'dont worry be happy' the man has a LOT more to offer, this perfectly shows off his ability to incorporate beatboxing into original melodious songs.

Stanley Jordan

One of the best guitarists around, noted alongside Hendrix for a good reason & this is such a sick cover.

India + MAW

Since i first heard this it was one of my favorite tracks & probably always will be, seriously smooth jazzy beats... it's funny because the original i see as obnoxious pop, but this mix is smooth like butter, total classic.

Blaque Spurm

Short lived Hip Hop act, only released two 12''s... this one's off Ill Labels, standard affair, totally smooth/94 style.

Tuesday 29 September 2009

Jacqueline Taïeb

Alongside Francoise Hardy, one of the best French 1960's Yé-Yé singers, really cool Garage Rock type track.

Daniel Savio

Had to finally post some Skweee & this guys the best producer around, all the Flogsta Danshall/Harmönia lot are good, but this guy stands out best to me, deep & glitchy hip hop & electro influenced electronic music, proper grooves.

Carl Sagan (Cosmos Remix)

Educational Minimal electronic Mashup with 2 of the science masters.

dwnload

Big thanks to Oli for this

DJ Koze

Hamburg based Techno producer, minimal, sexy.

CDR

If you like Aphex style high pitch sine sounds & childish melodies then you'll probably like this Japanese Breakcore artists stuff too, his albums are all veryyyyyyy different though.

Darkside Breakcore from Bristol based producer, straight off  Love Love Records free net label

Anorak - Brutality Refugee EP

Kim Hiorthøy

Norwegian IDM artist, really playful & creative stuff... check out Hei & Melke

ASC

Atmospheric amen break abusing DnB... heavy drop, but all very spacey & slick, straight from Inperspective Records & one of the best things i bought this year.

Monday 28 September 2009

Ludachrist

One of the best Mashup artists out there, if you like stuff like Girl Talk & Osymyso, this is yer jamz... lots of Crunk/Hip Hop mashed up into glitch Electro stuffz, as well as comedy remixes of meme videos, everything he's done is good.

Download his stuff for free here :3

The Dap-Kings

Funky A$$ Shittttt from a band made up of members from The Soul Providers and The Mighty Imperials released on Kenny Dope's sub-label Kay-Dee Records

Zenopede & Horchata

Downtempo, almost nightmarish Trip-Hop style stuff... very experimental

if anyone has a copy of this album they're willing to upload i'd appreciate it, it's only release was on a cdr that i cant locate.

Johannes Heil

Some more Techno, this time a German producer from BPitch Control... his stuff is again very progressive... but this is way more heavy, yet still nice & dreamy.

Capitan Commodore

Nice Progressive Techno from International Deejay Gigolo Records

Tom & Jerry

The 4 Hero lads under their T&J alias released some of the best Jungle tracks ever, classics like Dancer & Papillon Love Song will never grow tiresome... but this is my personal fave from Scooby's Dreaming

Sachiko M & Toshimaru Nakamura

No-Input music... minimalist experimental electronic, really spacey & atmospheric like deep techno, but much more stripped down, this video also has interviews with both the artists, a great watch.

Funckarma

Totally glitchy Autechre'esque IDM from the Djak-Up-Bitch label, intense but worth it.

Constant Deviants

Great NY [as far as i can tell] Hip Hop act with a few 12''s under their belt, everything i've found by em' I've liked... Smooth 90's style

Sunday 27 September 2009

Mark Caro

Realllly sick Oldskool Jungle from the short lived Blast Records label

Korla Pandit

The Godfather of Exotica, a hypnotic style all wrapped up in an unusual persona... Pandit is definitely a master of his craft.

Mohsen Namjoo

There's a reason wiki lists this guy under so many genres, because he truly encompasses them... Iranian folk, psych, blues, rock, jazz, experimentalism... like Iranian Kraut to a degree... totally experimental, totally awesome.

BIGUP to Soon for thissun'

Drugi Način

Beautiful Progressive 70's Psych-Rock from Yugoslavia

Kovács Kati

Bigup One Nation Under a Grave for cluing me into this, 70's Hungarian female fronted Rock, with a realllllll groove.

Damu the Fudgemunk + Y Society

Damu is one of the best producers in the game, making beats in the oldskool way using an MPC & a vast amount of crate diggin'... Damu's also in a few projects, most notably his grouping with Insight Y Society, both are equally great.

Sparetime: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FLO3FM60

Fierce

Real Hip Hop gem on Wreck House Records, 96

The Ventures

Amazing Surf Rock group from the 60's... quintessential drumming track

Vexkiddy

Knocking Out Numbers, which was an mp3 net release from Cock Rock Disco, was one of my top Breakcore albums of recent years, it's playfully over the top & extreme but without going to an annoying Gabba/Gabber tip to get there... if you love complex beatz, you'll love this.

TRS-80

Kinda Instru-Hip Hop, kinda Trip-Hop... sometimes even a bit Breakbeat... but definitely smooth electronic beats.

Stunt Rock

My favorite SR related project is 'Tomorrow i Am Going To Do it' but none of that stuff is on youtube, regardless it's perfect film sampling 'breakcore' even though i really wouldn't call it that... this though, i would, SR's regular stuff is childish/film sampling/hardcore Breakcore thats as well crafted as it is fun.

Salif Keita (Martin Solveig Remix)

Really tribal house remix of the Afro-Pop classic by Keita

Saturday 26 September 2009

The Golden Cups

One of the bigger bands from the Japanese 'Group Sounds' era... this is the best cover of a Hendrix track I've heard, totally fuzzed out & wild, the music was apparently influenced from the glue abuse prominent amongst japateenz at that time due to other drugs being harder to acquire, which would explain the almost psych/noise/breakdown at 1:30 ... love it

Kamuran Akkor

I love this chick, beautiful Turkish folk/pop, it makes me want to live as a gypsy & run away from normal society in a wagon.

Reso

The future sound of Dubstep, intricate & glitchy, from 2:20 onwards it's like an Amiga on steroids... very original stuff off the Heavy Arms ep

DJ Frankus

Take DJ Markys Jorge Ben samplin' hit LK & remove the vocals, then add some amen abuse and speed that shit up, yeahh boii

Agaskodo Teliverek

I think these guys are truly beyond classification, i'd have to invent either indietronica or nonsensecore to try, regardless... fun experimental stuff from ADAADAT

Colour Haze

Melodic Stoner Rock... like a perfect mix of Kyuss & TOOL

Friday 25 September 2009

Claro Intelecto

Silky soft modern techno from Ai Records, really blissful

Epsilon

Stanky Darkside Breakcore with an Industrial/Trip-Hop [at times] feel to it

Subject 13

95 Jungle from Vibez Recordings, one of the best i've heard from that label

BIGUP Tykal

Will Haven

There's a good reason Will Haven are known as both Hardcore & Metal... because they're both and almost at the same time neither, classic.

Squirrel Bait

Theres 3 good reasons to post this song...

1. Steve Albini production
2. Contains members of Slint
3. Pre-emptive of Nirvanas sound by about 9 years

Floaty Tabla induced IDM from Japan, like a muchhhh more advanced Talvin Singh

Deeeeeeeeeeep in the Jungle we find this 94' track from Intalektive Records

Las Grecas

A bit of Flamenco Rock from Spain now, these sisters have such an amazing progressive heavy psych sound, LOVE it.

Gomma Workshop

This post is more to plug this guy, than the tune specifically... in saying that this track has a very Selected Ambient Works Vol. II vibe about it [which cant be bad eh']... top experimental act

Coil

My favorite track by this amazing group, eerie suicide related phone message backed with Chris Isaak style guitar and bleeps/clicks, beautiful...

The Three Million Dollar Men

Specials sampling Breakbeat Hardcore white label here from 92, favorite of mine.

Rude Bwoy Monty (Junglites)

Totally rooood Jungle from the Frontline Records badbwoyssss

The source of Midnight in a Perfect Worlds intro, intense Jazz Fusion... essential guitar

Cujo

Super laid back Trip-Hop from Amon Tobin's Cujo alias...

Arthur Verocai

Jazz sounds from Brazil, killer guitar... totally chill

Sun Dial

Vastly underrated British Psychedelic band & like Tame Impala these are a lot more recent than they sound.

Mzu Bullet

Nice & Wobbly Kwaito from Africa :3

Underground Resistance

Really good 92 Acid Techno from the label of the same name, trippy classic in an 808 State vein...

Manuel Göttsching

Truly mind bending ambient techno/kraut... rave/minimalism... from this former Ash Ra Tempel member

Banda Black Rio

The best thing about listening to Mos Def's new album [which is awesome btw] was getting clued up to these guys... straight up Brazilian Funkkkk

Arto Mwambe

This House is so deep you could drown in it, for fans of MAW style progressive grooves on Brontosaurus records.

Shin Jung Hyun

Shin Jung Hyun was probably Korea's finest guitarist, working with an array of different groups, this isn't his best track, there just aren't too many online, regardless this is a top Funky Psych Jam...

Aguaturbia

Kickass Chilean Hard Psych-Rock

Magrudergrind

Energetically sludgey powerviolence from a consistently sick American group.

Rey De Copas (Grid Dub)

Seriously funky Latin House from Spain's DRO label

Bassline Generation

Amazing, heavy... but still very melodic jungle from Germany, essential.

The Cenobites

Kool Keith & Godfather Don's classic 90's hip hop

Goops

Sweet 94 Jungle from the Goops label

Early track from Studio One reggae artist Phill Pratt, mellow.

Falty DL (Luke Vibert Remix)

Bouncey summer vibe/house'y remix by Vibert

The Beginning Of The End

Totally Fresh Caribbean Funkkkkkk

Throttler

Obscene DnB, over the top to an awesome degree, seriously heavy.

Milton Nascimento & Lô Borges

Super chilled Brazilian guitar jam, really kicks in at 1:28

Microthol

Solid Sexy Viennese Electro from TRUST records

Just Jungle

Sickkkkkkkk Amen abusing 95 jungle from Trouble On Vinyl... BIG CHOON

Vibes & Wishdokta

One of my favorite oldskool hardcore anthems, MUSICCC'S WONDERFULLLL

Ghost

Unreal breakcore from UK's Ghost, shows everyone in the game how it's DONE... watch out Snares.

Actress

Hazyville is the perfect name for this album, it is a VERY hazy... sound, pumpin' atmospheric techno from Werk Discs crew.

D.R. Hooker

70's psychedelic awesomeness, like the perfect cross between The Doors & The Velvet Undergroud, add a pinch of brass & a cultish jesus style... voila

Danny Breaks

Pre-emptive to a lot of the dubstep bass abusing era, this track from Danny Breaks [which as the comments say, has a very Oizo sound to it] totally kills.

Soho

Broken beat stylin' deep house, classic.

Tame Impala

Australia's Tame Impala, a psychedelic rock band who's sound is strictly oldskool, 60's style jamz... hard to believe it's new.
