Linus Pauling Quartet

Part of the Texas Psychedelic scene this American group makes full on Stoner Jamzzz in an Electric Wizard meets Grateful Dead type way, loe the fan video on this one too... closest thing to it is the EHG vid for Anxiety Hangover which i posted before & is equally epic.

WaGawAgA

Hertfordshire based Dubstep artist who's sound is totally pushing things forward, the mrepsican album [which is available for free @ archive.org] is amazing, this is some of the best Dubstep i've ever heard.

BIGUP to Mark for thissun

Obsidian Pond

Manchester based Experimental group, their music is  a sort of Lo-Fi Psychedelic but with a very tribal repetition and overall Tropical/Calypso feel, they're seemingly associated with Deathbomb Arc.

Tuesday 8 December 2009

Pungo

Bluesy Experimental Jazz from Japan, their 'Waltz' album is like Gypsy Blues/Jazz & the whole thing is amazing.

Sunday 6 December 2009

Diane Cluck

American coffee shop Anti-Folk artist, she's done collaborations with Jeffrey Lewis & Toby Goodshank amongst others  and all six of her current lp's are essential listening, she's got the pleasant beauty of counterpart Joanna Newsom, but the delivery of a female Leonard Cohen/Jason Molina, very melon collie.

DJ Psylage

Much like 'Master' another UK Wrong Music associated act with little to no info & only appearing a few times scattered across some WM cdr's... i think he's also associated with the Countryside Alliance Crew, whatever the case anything that mixes the Wurzels with propa rudebwoy Junglism is awesome.

Topaz Rags

Amanda from Pocahaunted + Robedoor = Topaz Rags, American freaky/Drone/Psych-Folk [but really neither], haunting Rock... ballads, like most Not Not Fun releases, impossibly hard to classify, which is the reason so many flock to the label. They're total 'strung-out on heroin blues' type stuff & easily one of the top 5 acts on NNF

Ingrid Schroeder

One of the shorter lived artists to come from the mid 90's UK Trip Hop scene, she managed to release a full length lp & two 12''s 'Bee Charmer' & 'Paint it Blue' both of which i like, but it's this remix by Peshay from the Paint it Blue single that stands out best, to me it sounds like Air sat down and decided to make DnB, totally chilled.

Metaform

American Instrumental Hip Hop/Trip Hop/Soulful & funky Breakbeat with a hint of experimentation artist who's up there with similar people like RJD2 or Foolk, check out his killer Standing On the Shoulders of Giants lp.

Bruno Pronsato

Ex-Drummer for the Punk/Speed Metal band 'Voice Of Reason' turned Micro/Minimal Techno producer, his stuff is dark, sexy, hypnotic, tribal, glitchy, futuristic & so much more... highly recommend his Why Cant We Be Like Us? lp & other Hello? Repeat  releases.

Antischism

Late 80's/Early 90's American Crust Punk, youthful, energetic, brutal and screechy but at the same time chock full of headbanger riffs & totally melodic, one of the best.

DJ Scotch Egg

More Wrong Music, Scotch Egg is a Japanese Chiptune/Experimental/Gabbacore [just made that up] artist from the UK, his music is Chiptune to the hardcore end of the spectrum, screaming through megaphones and abusing Nintendo beats into spazzy rave stuff. While getting notorious through the festival circuit over the last few years & hitting it big on the underground with his KFC Core album, it's this track from a cdr i grabbed from Glade a few years back that blows me away everytime.

Willie and the Bumblebees

Willie and the Bumblebees is a Minnesota Funk/Blues/Jam group, this track features on a private press record from 1976, this is seriously Funky Jammin' stuff.

DJ Sprinkles

American Deep House from his recent Sisters, I Don't Know What This World Is Coming To 12''... spacey/hypnotic in a sort of Claude Von Stroke like way & great sexy dancefloor filler.
